Right now, as you read this sentence, millions of animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, monkeys, pigs, cows, horses and more) are being tortured under the guise of “scientific” and “consumer product” testing. Their heads are bored with drills. Their eyes are forced open and poisoned with chemicals, cosmetics, cleaners and even drain cleaner (acid). They are poked, prodded, burned and mutilated to test experimental medicines and medical procedures. They are held for months and even years in insanity-producing cages. And they are scared, sick, in pain and alone. Many of these atrocities are funded by taxpayers – YOU and me!
Right now, as you read this sentence, there are animals who cannot move because they are in “veal pens” (less than 3 feet wide) that restrict their movement (where they cannot even turn around) so that their meat remains tender. Torturing animals to get tender meat – how cruel, how ghoulish.
Right now, as you read this sentence, there are animals in “factory farms” (huge corporate mega-farms that value quantity over humane harvesting). These animals live in filth, disease, death and with no room to move due to overcrowding.
Right now, as you read this sentence, it is illegal for anyone to take pictures of corporate and scientific animal torture – even if done so from public (taxpayer paid-for) land or in public (taxpayer paid-for) buildings. These are called “Ag-Gag” laws. For example, Arklosophy knows of a veal pen farm next to a public road. If a person were to photograph those suffering cows from the taxpayer-paid-for road – that person would be subject to arrest. These animal torturers and their bought-and-paid-for politicians don’t want you to know the truth as that would be bad for business.

Often, unskilled (and many times skilled) sport/trophy hunters only wound the animals they shoot or arrow. These animals often go unfound and slink off into the woods to die alone in fear, pain and agony. This is not sport. This is not humane harvesting. This is an atrocity!
While capturing animals in hold and release cages (in order to move them to more hospitable/safer environments or to get treatment for wounds) is laudable – “Trapping” animals in spring-loaded, pressure-sensitive, Snare and Kill traps is the cruelty of monsters. Snare traps are often used to shackle animals until they are clubbed to death by trappers as shooting the animals would “ruin” the fur and, hence, the sale price. Snare and Kill traps shackle, wound, torture, maim and kill, more than 50% of the time, unintended animals like dogs and cats. Can you imagine an animal caught in a Kill trap that has not been immediately killed? Imagine your dog in one of those torture-chamber devices and left, for hours or days in the elements without food and water, to suffer and whimper in pain and fear. If this is not animal cruelty – what is?
Hunting and trapping animals for food and fur were long ago (but no longer) necessary for human survival. Killing animals to adorn walls with the heads of once majestic 12-point bucks or regal lions, to stuff and present as lifelike decorations or to make fur coats and other accessories is grotesque, ghoulish, and infinitely shameful. Even if hunting and trapping were necessary today for human survival – only humane (instant death) harvesting would be acceptable. Furthermore, the rationale that sport/trophy hunting and trapping are necessary to prevent overpopulation (and, thus, starvation) of wildlife is grossly inaccurate propaganda from governments who need hunting/trapping tourism dollars, from hunting, rifle, gun, bow and trapping manufacturers who seek profits, from sport/trophy hunting and trapping clubs that need members’ dues and from elected officials who need campaign contributions from all of the aforementioned. Again, even if sport/trophy hunting and trapping were necessary to prevent overpopulation – only humane (instant death) harvesting would be acceptable and certainly not the animal cruelty and torture that is practiced today.
This massive endeavor will require battling factory farms (and their corporate overlords), government bureaucracies, donation-shackled politicians, “conservation” and hunting clubs, diabolical scientific and consumer product testing scientists (and their funding sources) and the advertising- dependent/compliant media.
